Healey Silverstone

D Type

Chassis # D26 | Engine # 900 | Registration #LGK49

Eligible for many of the most significant sports car events in the world, including the Mille Miglia, the Healey Silverstone was the car chosen by many of the up and coming young racing drivers in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, including Tony Brooks, Louis Chiron, Tony Rolt, and Tommy Wisdom. The model also acquitted itself very well in the Alpine Trials, being awarded a coveted Alpine Cup. There were many competition successes both in rallies and on the track.

Fielding Collection In Forres, Scotland from 1969 until just a few years ago. The Collection hosted some of the greatest racing Maserati’s and other sports racing cars.

Chassis D26 has led a relatively sheltered life, forming part of the renowned Fielding Collection In Forres, Scotland from 1969 until just a few years ago. The Collection hosted some of the greatest racing Maserati’s and other sports racing cars.

During 2020 and 2021, the car was dismantled to the bare chassis and was completely rebuilt, repainted, and re-trimmed. The brakes, the rear axle, and the steering box were overhauled, all bearings replaced, and a new wiring loom fitted. The engine was left virtually as it had been rebuilt in the latter part of the Fielding ownership. The result is a most attractive example of the marque, highly eligible for both FIA and FIVA papers.
